There’s a lot of great, really fresh-squeezed-tasting orange juice at the grocery store (especially at fancier, natural foods stores), but Simply Orange Pulp-Free is the best orange juice you can get pretty much anywhere. It’s truly the platonic ideal of store-bought orange juice—sweet, tangy, bright, and perfect for gulping down at breakfast or mixing into a cocktail like a Mimosa or a Screwdriver. It’s not quite fresh-squeezed (there’s no pulp, after all), but it comes pretty darn close, and that’s what we want from the best juice at the grocery store.

We thought that tangerine juice would just be way too sweet, but this Evolution Fresh tangerine juice is so nuanced! It’s very, very zesty and fresh tasting. It tastes like you’re drinking a whole tangerine, peel, pith, and all. There’s a pronounced bitterness that balances out the sweetness. If you’re a Cuties freak and you’ve ever been curious about tangerine juice, this is the best juice to seek out.

Ocean Spray isn’t just the most prevalent cranberry juice, it’s also the best juice for cranberry juice lovers, period. It’s not too sweet and not too tart, and it tastes natural, even though it’s a fruit juice “cocktail” rather than 100% juice. If you’re looking for the best fruit juice to drink straight or use as a mixer, this is a great option.

- O Organics 100% Tomato Juice

We referred to this tomato juice as “refreshing” in our review, and that’s definitely not something you can say about most tomato juices. Besides its gulpable texture, O Organics tomato juice is bursting with unadulterated tomato flavor. In fact, it’s so dang umami we couldn’t help but notice that it contains less salt and sugar than some of its competitors. If you’re a tomato juice drinker (or you’re looking for a good base for homemade Bloody Mary mix), this is one of the best fruit juices for you to have on hand (yes, tomato is a fruit for our purposes).

We’re big fans of Simply over here at Sporked, but not all their juices are created equal. Some of them contain more water than actual fruit juice (it’s worth checking out the label before you commit), but Simply Apple is 100% pure pressed apple juice (not from concentrate) and it shows. It’s extremely fresh and natural, like something you’d pick up at a roadside stand attached to an apple orchard. This is the best juice for adults who want to revisit the sweet goodness of apple juice without guzzling a bunch of added sugar.

- Evolution Fresh Organic Grapefruit Juice

You get what you pay for when you opt for Evolution’s grapefruit juice. Yeah, it’s pricey, but it’s also crazy delicious. It even smells like freshly squeezed grapefruit juice—and the taste lives up to the smell. If you don’t have a ruby red grapefruit tree in your yard, Evolution grapefruit juice is the best juice you can buy.

- Evolution Fresh Mighty Watermelon

We tried this alongside two other “watermelon juices,” both of which were actually juice cocktails, meaning they also contain water and sugar. Even Simply Watermelon only contains 10% juice and it’s not even all watermelon juice. There’s lemon juice in Evolution’s Mighty Watermelon, but just to brighten the flavor of the melon. This juice is straight watermelon right to the dome. It’s so juicy. It’s so melony. This is good and refreshing on its own, but I would combine it with lemonade or iced tea (and some vodka, obvi) to make a summery drink.

- Open Nature Guava Nectar

If you like guava cheese pastries, you will love this organic guava juice from Albertsons. It really tastes like a delicious guava paste or puree in juice form. It has the most convincing and accurate guava flavor of any of the juices we tried, and while it’s VERY SWEET, it’s not as wildly sweet as some of the others. It would be really good mixed with some coconut cream and rum to make tropical drinks. This is a nectar not a juice, technically, but it’s juice-adjacent, so we’re including it!

If you want a juice box, then get a real juice box. Skip the all-natural stuff. Kool-Aid Jammers Cherry is the best of the best—sugary sweet, tart, and a dang treat for anyone’s lunchbox, young or old. Good job, Kool-Aid Man.

We told you Simply is a Sporked favorite brand and this cherry-forward fruit punch is one of the reasons we love it so much. You’ll never do better than fresh-squeezed lemonade, but Newman’s Own gets you close. It has a nice, zesty quality and it isn’t as sweet as lots of the other lemonades we tried. It’s zingy and zippy and if you’re a kid, you could make some decent cash selling it from a stand.

The best aloe vera juice should actually taste good, and this one manages to do that without losing that aloe essence. It’s sweet but not too sweet—and it has chunks! We didn’t even know we wanted our juice to have chunks until this taste test. This is the best juice if you want the cooling, earthy flavor of aloe but you don’t want it to be so over-sweetened that it tastes like gummy bears.

Okay, we realize that Snapple only contains 10% real fruit juice, so including it among the best juices is a litttttttle bit of a stretch, but it’s fruity and it’s sweet and we loved those commercials with the Snapple Lady in the ‘90s, so we’re going with it. The brand has innovated a bit over the years, but when it comes to the best Snapple flavor, Snapple Apple is still the GOAT. It’s crisp, tart, and not too sweet. In fact, it’s the only Snapple flavor we tried that isn’t too sweet. This is a big ol’ sip of nostalgia and we love it.

It’s not easy being a green juice on a list of the best fruit juice, but we promise this stuff rules. Pressed Greens with Ginger is packed with veggies (spinach, celery, parsley, kale, and cucumber) but it doesn’t taste overly savory like a lot of other green juices we tried. It’s fresh and light, and mostly tastes like ginger, apple, and lemon. It’s a highly refreshing way to get your veggies in for the day.

Amazon Fresh products can be hit or miss, but this apple cider is the best juice to add to your cart if you won’t be getting around to driving out to an apple orchard this fall. It’s not quite as vibrant as the apple cider you get from an orchard, but it’s pretty darn close and pretty darn good. Hot tip: Mix this with some sparkling water to make a spritz if cider is simply too sugary for you.

People drink tart cherry juice as a sleep aid, and while we can’t tell you which one is most effective (we’re taste-testers, not scientists), we can tell you that Whole Foods sells a tart cherry juice that’s actually pleasant to drink. It’s the sweetest tart cherry juice we tried in our taste test, but don’t worry—it doesn’t have any added sugar. It’s tangy like cranberry juice, and turned a cherry-hater into a convert. That’s the power of the best juice!
